Monday, January 23, 2006 is the committee is made up in Ticino referendum against the law on asylum and against the new Aliens Act. Numerous organizations, associations and political parties have already given their support to the newly formed committee and will engage in the collection of signatures for the referendum. Ambitious but achievable goal of the campaign to collect only in Italian Switzerland at least 5,000 signatures by April 6.

The campaign will be coordinated by the Ticino ' Swiss Refugee Organization (SRC) by Amnesty International and the Forum for the Integration of Migrants and Migrants (FIMM) , organizations sensitive to issues of foreign and the protection of human rights. These associations are also among the promoters of the referendum at the national level, officially launched last December 21 in Zurich after December 16, 2005 the Federal Assembly, in approving the law on foreigners and introduced substantial amendments to the Act on Asylum, have further exacerbated the Federal legislation on foreign residents and asylum seekers.
